Pakistan and India foreign ministers fail to set up a date for resumption of dialog
New York (Dawn.com): Despite frank and positive meeting that was held between the Pakistani and the Indian foreign ministers at the Palace Hotel in New York, yesterday, both the foreign ministers failed to set up a date for the resumptions of dialog between the two countries. Pakistan had already nominated its foreign secretary to indulge in the back door diplomacy but the meeting failed to find a positive solution. The Indian foreign minister told the press after the meeting that, ‘They understood our position and did not insist on fixing a date.’
Meeting of elders urge government not to take discriminatory action against all Mehsuds
Dera Ismail Khan (Dawn.com): All Mehsuds are not militants or terrorists, said the elders of Mehsud tribe to the government. They requested the officials not to take any discriminatory action. The meeting of elders of the tribe known as Jirga was held to oversee rehabilitation of the displaced people.

Islamabad (Dawn.com): The PML-N leaders blame ‘trust deficit’ the Zardari led Pakistani government is facing. Ahsan Iqbal, the central spokesman for the Pakistan Muslim League (N) group said the Zardari government has failed to dish out $100 billion promised by the President. As agreed during the FODP moot, the donor countries agreed on Parking Pakistan aid funds with World Bank which shows a clear lack of trust for the present Pakistani regime. He said, ‘The nations wants to know where are the $ 100 billion dollars which Mr. Zardari promised to bring in the country. It is a shame that the government is making Pakistan look like an international beggar.”

The 2 days trading ended up with mixed sentiments after aggressive buying by the local and foreign investors. The local investors resorted to early selling which diluted the market sentiments and brought the KSE-100 index down. However, the total surge of 227.43 points in the index was witnessed which the KSE-100 index at 9,664.25 points
