Islamabad (Dawn.com) In a high level meeting chaired by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, where all the Chief Ministers of the Provinces, political leaders and the army top command was present, the civilian leadership gave the army a go head for the operation in South Waziristan. According to the official sources the operation can be launched within the next 24 hours.

Islamabad (Dawn.com): Pakistan National Assembly was briefed by the Pakistan Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi about the controversial clauses in the Kerry - Lugar bill. He revealed to the National Assembly the outcome of his meetings with the crafters of the aid bill. He said, ‘Pakistan has neither conceded any of its authority nor it intends to concede anything.’
‘The only requirements on this funding are financial accountability measures that Congress is imposing on the US executive branch, to ensure this assistance supports programs that most benefit the Pakistani people.’ he said, while the members of the opposition refused to accept the clauses of the bill. Mr. Qureshi added, This is not the time for political point-scoring (because) Pakistan is facing huge challenges to its security.’

Washington (Dawn.com): Refusing to divulge the details of the sensitive military equipment being sent to Pakistan, the US has enhanced Pakistan’s direct military aid to help the army to combat terrorist in the South Waziristan area where the army of Pakistan is about to launch a full scale operation.
Citing massive military action over 200,000 flee from South Waziristan
United Nations (Dawn.com) The United Nation Human Rights watch told the press yesterday that over 200,000 people have fled the area citing mass scale destruction during the military offensive being launched in the area. Pakistan will once again face the issue of housing and managing affairs of the Internally displaced people. The Pakistan military cites to complete South Waziristan Operation in a period of two months.
Karachi stock close short of 10,000 points benchmark
Karachi (Dawn.com): The investors at the Karachi Stock Exchange were seen busy in both buying and selling of shares. They offloaded their investments mostly on small profit margin. The index swayed on both sides of the fence and touched 9,838.12 points at the end of the days trading.
