Chinese and US pharmaceutical companies join hands in mesothelioma lung cancer drug manufacturing

Dallas, TX: Mesothelioma cure has been the main concern of the health care professionals. In this quest OSI Pharmaceuticals, Inc, and Simcere Pharmaceutical, a drug manufacturing company in China, have joined hands. The joint venture of both the companies will result in the developing, manufacturing and marketing of a drug KDR/Kit inhibitor OSI-930 related to mesothelioma and lung cancer.

The drug KDR/Kit inhibitor OSI-930 keeps a check on spread of cancer cells and on the growth of blood vessels in some selected tumors. The preclinical test and study reveals that the drug is effective in small cell and non small cell lung cancer, gastric, colorectal and other cancers, while is effectiveness in mesothelioma is still under study.
