Phoenix, Arizona (CaymanMama.com) — ABC television network is facing complaints from over 1,500 people who are angry, disturbed and embarrassed about “American Idol” Adam Lambert’s sexually charged performance during Sunday’s American Music Awards show.
ABC said the viewer response was “moderate.” Prior to giving his jaw-dropping performance, Lambert said his goal was to “break down a double standard that existed where female performers are often sexually provocative while men don’t do it that often”, according to the Associated Press.
Upset viewers also took to online forums to talk about the controversial rocker who performed his new single “For Your Entertainment” on complete with an elaborate, provocative production.
As parents raced to cover their children’s eyes, Lambert inappropriately touched a backup dancer, and dragged another dancer around on a dog leash, among other moves that were better left off of family programming.
Lambert told CNN that the impromptu kiss was “in the moment” and was not part of his routine.
