Dallas, Texas (CaymanMama.com) — Fitness buffs and couch potatoes can draw inspiration from the most recent winner of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” weight loss competition.

Danny Cahill, 40, dropped a history-making 239 pounds and gained a $250,000 grand prize as the shows biggest loser in history.

The 40-year-old land surveyor and musician is only a fraction of his former self going from 430 pounds to 191 pounds, dropping 55.58 percent of his body weight.

The Oklahoma native achieved this feat in only six months and three days — breaking the show’s record for the most weight lost by any contestant.

According to the Associated Press, “The Nielsen Co. said that with 13.4 million viewers, the season eight finale of “The Biggest Loser” on Tuesday night had the show’s biggest audience in four years.”

During an interview on the “Today” show, Cahill said he drew his inspiration to get healthy from his family.

NBC announced season nine of “The Biggest Loser” will premiere Jan. 5.
