Greensboro, North Carolina (CaymanMama.com) — Tiger Woods continues to lose his high paying endorsement deals as large corporations who used to depend on his namesake now wish to separate themselves from the golfer playboy.
Swiss watch maker Tag Heuer announced Friday that it will “downscale” their use of Woods’ image in its ad campaigns for the foreseeable future.
Although they confirmed that they will continue their relationship with Woods, Tag Heuer will now be working to modify their marketing strategies that use the golfer’s image in certain regions out of respect for Woods’ privacy.
After Woods announced his temporary break from professional golf last week, Tag Heuer said the advertising changes will now rest on how long he plans to stay out of the game. Woods has been a prominent pitchman for the watch maker since 2002.
The Switzerland-based company said it will continue to support Woods’ charitable foundation.
According to the Associated Press, “After initially standing by Woods, the company moderated its support Monday by saying it would assess its relationship with the world’s highest-earning athlete.”
Tag Heuer is now the third sponsor to retract their Woods endorsement deals since his admission of several adulterous affairs.
