Dallas, Texas (CaymanMama.com) — Hollywood has seen another untimely death of a young starlet who seemed to be on the upswing of her career.

Actress Brittany Murphy, only 32 years old, was found unconscious in the shower by her mother early Sunday morning, and authorities said it appeared the star had gone into full cardiac arrest.

According to PEOPLE.com, “It is reported that a call went out to 911 from Murphy’s Los Angeles home at 8 a.m. Attempts to revive her were not successful. A spokesperson for Cedars Sinai Medical Center confirmed to PEOPLE that Murphy died at the facility Sunday at 10:04 a.m.”

The actress’s rep said in a statement, “In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy.”

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Murphy got her breakthrough role as a wall flower-turned popular girl in Clueless, and then went on to co-star in 8 Mile with Eminem, and Girl, Interrupted, with Angelina Jolie.
