IBM to hire 500 customer service employees at Boulder campus

Aurora, Colorado (CaymanMama.com) — Multinational computer, technology and IT consulting corporation, IBM announced Tuesday its plans to hire 500 employees for their customer service department to be stationed at their Boulder, Colorado campus.
City officials report the workers will be hired locally and trained by IBM. The corporations is expanding customer-service related positions, made possible by $35,000 in sales and tax rebates from the city.
According to the Associated Press, “City Manager Jane Brautigam said Monday that the New York-based company would receive the money as part of the city’s flexible rebate program. Companies qualify for the rebates by meeting social, community and environmental sustainability guidelines.”
IBM also collections training funding from the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade.
The city of Boulder reports that IBM employs approximately 2,800 employees at its local campus.
