Montreal, Quebec, Canada (CaymanMama.com) — Child star and 80s film heartthrob, Corey Haim passed away on Wednesday at the age of 38 of what appeared to be an accidental drug overdose, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed.

The troubled actors was reportedly was found unresponsive at his North Hollywod apartment, which he shared with his mother at the time of his death.

Los Angeles Coroner assistant chief Ed Winter confirmed four prescription bottles – not illegal drugs — were found at the apartment.

“There were no illicit drugs found at the residence. There were four prescription bottles taken,” Winter said. As far as which prescriptions were found have not yet been released, but Winter says they were “just normal prescriptions.”

“The Los Angeles Police Department reported it was a possible drug overdose, but we’ve seen no signs of foul play at this time,” Winter continues. “It’s pending an autopsy and toxicology.”

Winter explains that Haim awoke early Wednesday morning with flu-like symptoms.

“His mother was with him. He got up. He felt weak, and she helped him on to the bed. She called paramedics,” Winter said. “They responded and transported him to the hospital. He was pronounced [dead] at 2:15 a.m.”
