Luxury home decor store gives tips for decorating with floral prints

When looking for floral prints for bedding, furniture upholstery or in table linens, it is ideal to look for designs that will coordinate with colors that may already exist in the home. If the home boasts a lot of neutral shades, a monotone print of variations of brown, tan and beige would work wonderfully without feeling out of place.

Rich camel and soft rose are great examples of tones that are not overbearing to the eye. However, when choosing accent colors, this is where the creative mind can run wild. Add a vase to a dresser in the bedroom in grass green, or add chargers to a table setting in bright red.

Upon putting the finishing touches on a room remember the design principle of repetition. While overusing a particular pattern is a no-no, repeating a single print 2 or 3 times is recommended. For example, if a pretty floral print is used for the duvet cover and shams on a bed, think of using the same print as an accent pillow on a reading chair or for the tie-backs for the curtains.
