Mirror Piece Records is poised and ready to release Christopher Anton’s first ever solo album entitled “Destination: X”. “A Shattered Mind” is the first single and video from the release. The single which was written by Richard Broadhead, hit home with Anton, who has dealt with the demons of addiction and the helplessness of having a close relative suffering from substance abuse, mental disorders, and destructive addictive behaviors.
“The song [A Shattered Mind] spoke to me in a very profound way” explains Anton. “I spent 2003 to 2006 trying to help someone very close to me who had reached a low point in substance abuse. This song addresses that whole issue in my mind…Richard has a way of grabbing you and pulling you in with his melodies and words… he wrote that song for a different set of circumstances, but it spoke to me personally. I think that ability is indicative of any brilliant song writer.”
Destination: X is much more a main stream endeavor than Anton’s past work with his band Information Society while maintaining Anton’s new wave roots.
Anton has been working on “Destination: X” with producer Nick Tutone since 2008. The pair, along with band mate Donna Jean scored a substantial club hit with their remake of the Visage classic “Fade to Grey” on Mirror Piece Records earlier this year.
Other tracks on the album include “Lovefix” a song written by Anton, with band mates Nick Tutone, and Donna Jean as a rebuttal to the stereotypical pop song message about sexual delusions of grandeur. The uptempo track “I Want To Be Broken” written by Anton, and Tutone opens up the album and establishes the general tone of the tracks that follow. Destination: X even contains a ballad called “State” which is a love song and a tribute written by Anton to his current wife.
