The Midcounties Co-op Travel has welcomed news of its confirmation as an Accredited Body by the CAA.
Alistair Rowland, Group General Manager, Travel Services, said: “We are delighted we have met the CAA’s criteria and have gained Accredited Body status. It is an important endorsement for our expanding business and recognition that our procedures are all in place.
“The accreditation is good news too for our consortium and will highlight its attractions for other members who wish to join us.
“Our customers are confident that the holidays they buy from us – whether through our branches, homeworkers or web business – are covered by the ATOL scheme and are fully protected. Accredited Body status reinforces our commitment to that financial protection and the UK ATOL scheme.”
A spokesman for ATOL, said: “Midcounties Co-operative Travel is the seventh travel organiser to be confirmed as an accredited body, and the CAA would like to thank them for their close co-operation during the approval process.”
Midcounties has embarked on a strategy of rapid growth as it aims to become the leading independent travel retailer in the UK, with co-operative values at its core.
