CNN reported that after shying away from his presidential aspirations for about 2 years, finally Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced on Wednesday in a news paper editorial that he is not going to independently run for president and also said that he may stand in support of a candidate who ‘takes an in-dependent, non-partisan approach.’
The supporters and followers of Bloomberg, a 66 years billionaire businessman, had formerly said that he was all ready for spending one billion dollars on his independent presidential campaign, but in an editorial piece on The New York Times’ web site, it was written that he will work to “steer the national conversation away from partisanship and toward unity; away from ideology and toward common sense; away from sound bites and toward substance.” He is going through his 2nd term in the City Hall, of which 2 years are still left.

One of his political consultants had initiated a step towards running a presidential campaign for Bloomberg 2 years ago, but then also he had publicly announced that he is not interested in running for the president. But during the last few months, his determination for not running for president seemed to grow weak as his supporters began to lay the foundation for a 3rd party campaign. But finally now, on Wednesday, he once again showed his disinterest for it by writing in the editorial that “I listened carefully to those who encouraged me to run, but I am not — and will not be — a candidate for president.” - Press Release Distribution Service
