Washington: At first look, the Oxygen Generating Mask appears to be a space age harmonica. Yet, it is a mask that helps in protecting from chemical or biological attack. This oxygen generating mask creates its own oxygen directly from carbon dioxide and provides 15 to 20 minutes of breathing without any bulky oxygen tank. The cost of the mask is $200.

This Oxygen Generating Mask was one of the product that was displayed at the massive homeland security trade show where there was a huge display of security equipments such as surveillance cameras, video cameras and robots to name a few. Some of the famous companies that took part in the security expo included Oxy 11 and Northrop Grumman. The Govsec 2008 gives a chance for various organizations to showcase their wares and avail lucrative contracts from government.

According to Kristina Tanasichuk, director at Govsec, “People come to the show to look at what types of products meet not only their homeland security goals, but all their security needs.”

Govsec was attended by 7000 shoppers that became an annual event after September 11, 2001 attacks. It is estimated that the Homeland Security Research estimated that the homeland security will grow to $35 billion. - Press Release Distribution Service
