Mingora: The Chief of Tehrik-i-Taliban Baitullah Mehsud directed his subordinates to discontinue talk with the government of Pakistan. He further said that the pact made with the NWFP government will remain intact though the party has decided not to attend the meeting with Swat government.

Asia Cup – Pakistani looses by 64 run to Sri Lanka

Karachi: Pakistan lost by 64 runs to Sri Lanka in the Super 4 round of the Asia Cup cricket tournament being held in Pakistan, Pakistan won the toss and elected to field. Sri Lanka set a target of 303 run. Pakistan was restricted to 238 for nine in the 50 over match by the Sri Lankan team.

Oil prices raised for the 5th time in four months in Pakistan

Islamabad: The government of Pakistan raised the prices of oil by 10 to 20% yesterday bring the price of petrol to US $1.12 per liter. This is the fifth rise in the rates of petrol and petroleum products in the past four months.

Terrorists blow up the Gas Pipeline in Sui - Baluchistan

Quetta: A 26 inches gas pipeline was blown up by terrorists in Sui. The explosion resulted in not only disrupting the gas supply to Sindh and Punjab but also resulted in death of a boy. 4 people were also injured.

Afghan refuge bases in Pakistan have become Afghan militant’s hideout

Washington: Pakistan is been pressing to send the Afghan refugees back home but the US government feels that such an act with destabilize the economic situation of Afghanistan. Pakistan concerns have up till now been completely ignored by the US that militants are using these refugee camps as the major hiding place and also to rebuild themselves.
