London, England ( — It was Amy Winehouse’s first show in the UK in the last seven months but the show was marred by a shocker as Amy punched a fan sitting in the front row. The incident took place on Saturday when Winehouse was performing at the Glastonbury Festival before an audience of 80,000 people. While stepping down into the pit singing her famous hit “Rehab”, Winehouse lashed out at a fan before being taken back by security.

According to Michael Eavis, the organizer of the festival, Winehouse lashed out at the crowd after someone grabbed Amy’s breasts. Amy’s appearance in this festival was already marred by speculation as she had collapsed at her home and had been hospitalized earlier this month. According to her father, Mitch Winehouse, his daughter had damaged her lungs due to smoking cigarettes and cocaine and had developed emphysema, which was at an initial stage. However, on Saturday, it was supposed to be the return of the 24-year old singer who was performing for the 90th birthday of Nelson Mandela in London along with many other star performers.

At Glastonbury, Winehouse said, “You don’t even know how happy I am to be here tonight.” At the Festival, she paid tribute to Blake Fielder-Civil, her jailed husband. After the performance Noel Gallagher, the guitarist from the band Oasis,  said, “They say you don’t want me here, Glastonbury. Now tell me, where is the love?”

According to the review of the Glastonbury website, “Glastonbury’s not just about rock bands, it’s about music, and this will be a hard act to follow.” In the end, it was a musical treat for the fans who had gathered at the Glastonbury Festival. - Press Release Distribution Service
