US failure in Afghanistan worries Russia

Moscow (Dawn.com): Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Borodavkin as reported by the Interfax news agency have indicated fears of the Russian government in case the US strategy in Afghanistan fails. The news report outlines the fears of the Russian government in event of the US forces to control the insurgency the militancy could spread to Russia and the central Asian countries.

Citing the problem the Russian officials might be willing to back talks with moderate Taliban, if they are willing to lay down their arms.
