Hillary wants US diplomats to contribute in US strategy for Afghanistan & Pakistan

Washington (AP): Hillary Clinton, while explaining the outlined strategy on Afghanistan and Pakistan, said that the policy does talk about sending more troops to Afghanistan but greater diplomacy. She, in her cable to embassies and consulates she wrote, ‘The major shift in this strategy is to emphasize our diplomatic and civilian efforts to achieve our objectives.’ ‘I ask for all of your ideas, talent, creativity, hard work and sacrifice to help make this new strategy succeed,’ she wrote. ‘The ability of the Afghan and Pakistani people to build peaceful and prosperous lives — and the future national security of the United States — requires nothing less.’

8 killed in North Carolina Nursing Home

Raleigh, (AFP): 8 people, mostly elderly and the sick were killed by a heavily armed gun man in a North Carolina nursing home. The police report that the gunman is in police custody.

According to AFP, Robert Steward, aged 45 engaged in a shooting spree at the 90 bedded Pine Lake nursing home in Carthage, North Carolina. The news reported stated, “This morning a lone gunman came to the Pine Lake nursing home in Carthage and as a result of his actions today, he is facing eight counts of first degree murder,”

Missile interpreter ship deployed by the US

Seoul (AFP): The US yesterday announced deployment of missile interpreter ship in the Korean Seas before the launch date of the longest range missile launch to date but the US said it had no intentions to shoot it down.
