Karachi violence claim 25 lives, injures over 40 people

Karachi: A planned violence to disturb peace and calm that had uptill now prevailed in the metropolises of Karachi when terrorists started indiscrement firing from the hilly areas on Karachi starting during the early hours of the day. Firing, looting and setting fire to vehicles spread to other parts of area resulting in the killing of 25 people.

Incidents of firing carried over till late last night and the city currently bears a deserted look with scanty traffic on the roads.

US Afghanistan plan worries Pakistan

Washington: Pakistan has express its concern over the US plan for reinforcing troops in Southern Afghanistan. The Pakistan General, Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani has expressed concern. He has conveyed his worries to the Commandant of the US Marines Corps . that the US plan to strengthen US forces in Southern Afghanistan will force the Afghan to infiltrate across the Pakistani boarders. Conway replied about General Kayani’s concerns by saying, ‘I accept General Kayani’s concerns as face value from his perspective. I would offer to you that not everybody believes that’s where the Taliban will flush to. But in any event, we’ve got to do what we’ve got to do in the south,’

Balochistan situation might get out of control if government does not rise to address the problems in the province

Quetta: ‘The law and order situation in Balochistan is alarming and it needs immediate steps,’ said the governor of Balochistan, Nawab Zulfiqaq Ali Magsi spoke about the worsening situation in the province of Balochistan. He added, ‘Although I am a representative of the centre, I was never taken into confidence by Islamabad on the Balochistan issue.’

Asif Ali Zardari call for the national unity while military operation against militants continue

Islamabad: The Pakistani President, Asif Ali Zardari called upon the Pakistani nation to stand united and shun their differences, he stated, ‘Time has come for the entire nation to give pause to their political differences and rise to the occasion and give full support to our security forces in this critical hour. This is the only way to demonstrate our will, to keep Pakistan as a moderate, modern and democratic state where the rights of all citizens are protected.’

Karachi Stock Exchange declines by 158.78 points

Karachi: The law and order situation in the country and with the city of Karachi turning volatile, the stock exchange at Karachi also reacted sharply to the situation declining by 158.78 points and closed at 7,271.30 points.
