Peshawar Pearl Continental Hotel hit with powerful bomb blast - 11 dead, 50 injured

Peshawar (Dawn.com): Militants have sprayed death all over Pakistan particularly in Northern parts and Punjab. Like Islamabad Marriott, this time militants targeted Pearl Continental Hotel. Karachi killings are not linked with militancy -PM

Karachi (Dawn.com): While visiting Karachi and meeting the political setup of the city, the Prime Minister of Pakistan addressed target killings in Karachi with grave concern. He noted that killings in Karachi were not linked with the militancy in Pakistan. He addressed the needs of curbing such incidences of violence and asked the ruling political mafias to weed out such elements the so called drug mafia and the land mafia to put a check on the incidents of killings.

The people of the city are 100% sure that this meeting was an eye washer and a feeble attempt to tell the citizens of the city that the government is working for their interest. whereas the actual fact is that the waring political parties are not interested in the betterment and livelihood of the common man who voted them to power. The name of the game right now is the retain and maintain power while these political hoodlums are in the parliament. Not even the law enforcing agencies are interested in maintaining peace and prevent incidents of killings as they receive the money, bribes etc to keep out of the situation and let people die in the hands of the political parties.

India wants to retry peace process with Pakistan

New Delhi (Dawn.com): While speaking to the parliament, the Indian PM said that it was in the interest of India and to regional peace that India must retry and restart talk with Pakistan. He said, that he is willing to walk more than half way if Pakistan takes on the responsible attitude during the partnership. He said, ‘I have believed India cannot realise its ambitions unless there is peace and prosperity in South Asia as a whole and if our neighbourhood is suffering from instability and turbulence that has direct bearing on our own evolution as a democratic polity committed to sustained growth and development.’

Operation against militants start in Bannu

Bannu (Dawn.com): The Pakistani military started operation in Bannnu after the expiry of the deadline given to the locals of the area to hand over the militants active in Bannu. The army operation started with arrests of 24 suspects from different parts of Bannu, while the army also pounded the suspected hideouts of the militants.
