So called Islamist terrorists loose focus - attack International Islamic University in Islamabad

Islamabad (Dawn.com): Islamist militants, terrorists who are fighting their holy war for the rule of Islamic sharia in Peshawar and the rest of Pakistan lost focus. The so called Islamist terrorists attacked the International Islamic University that teaches local and foreign student principals of Islam. Two bomb blasts carried out by suicide bombers killed 3 female students and injured over 6 people in the University. The police claimed to have captured one suspect alive.

Government of Pakistan orders closure of educational institutions

Karachi (Dawn.com) The Pakistan government, in a desperate attempt, ordered closure of all educational institutions through out the country following the attack at the Islamic university in Islamabad. The official sources have informed that the intelligence agencies have received terror threats at the educational institutions. The schools as per the officials notification will remain closed for the last 4 days of the week and will reopen on Monday.

Meanwhile the NWFP minister, yesterday, confirmed that the Swat militants, who had fled from Swat during the military operation have entered Karachi and fears that they will create Swat like situation in the mega city of Pakistan.

Petroleum secretary grilled by the Supreme Court bench

Islamabad (Dawn.com) The inefficiency of the Zardari led government has been in question for over a years time. The supreme court of Pakistan bench led by the Chief Justice of Pakistan questioned the Petroleum Secretary Mehmood Saleem for not abiding by the decision of the Supreme Court that in the order passed by Justice Rana Bhagwandas for devising new formula for fixing prices of petroleum products specially for the locally produced CNG, LPG and diesel. The question raised here by the court was as to why the prices of locally produced petroleum products are linked with the international market.

The bench also questioned the Petroleum secretary why had the government preferred to sit on the order and uptill now no action has been taken on the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Sharing of intelligence and sealing of Pakistan - Afghanistan boarder requested by Pakistan

Islamabad (Dawn.com): The Nato forces received a request from the Pakistan army to seal off the Pakistan and Afghanistan boarder to prevent flow of Taliban militants to and from Afghanistan. The Pakistan army also requested the Nato forces to share intelligence to help the Pakistan army in the offensive launched against the militants. Pakistan army is right now battling with 10,000 militants of Tehrik-i-Taliban who are getting aid from Al-Qaeda and their foreign masters.

Stock at the Karachi Stock Exchange regain strength -KSE-100 index up by 157 points

Karachi (Dawn.com): The Karachi Stock Exchange was ruled by bulls yesterday who covered positions at the low prices. The Islamabad bomb blast news did not effect the trading session. As such the share price index rose by 157.78 points with 9,569.31 points on board.
