White House Works to Speed Up New Air Traffic Control Network

May 28, 2010 /EIN Presswire/ — The Obama administration is speeding up installation of a planned new air traffic network which will use satellites to direct aircraft rather than ground-based radar.

The new system, expected to cost from between $2 to $4 billion is scheduled for completion by 2020, but the White House is considering incentives as a way to install the navigation equipment sooner.
